The Rententurm from bottom to top - guided tour with Hannes Pflügner
(kus) The history of the Rententurm is the focus of the guided tour with Hannes Pflügner on Sunday, October 16, at 3 pm at the Historisches Museum (HMF). Meeting point is the foyer of the HMF. Museum admission is 7 euros, 3.50 euros concessions, participation in the guided tour costs an additional 2 euros.
The four-storey building section of the museum is one of the few remaining late Gothic towers of Frankfurt's former city fortifications from the mid-15th century. From the inside of the tower, visitors can get a historical and contemporary panoramic view of life on the Main. Furthermore, objects are displayed by means of which one gets a vivid impression of the connection between port and trade, customs and tax duties as well as the activities of the Rentamt.
Highlights of this tour include the historic tower clockwork, reminiscent of the clock that was once installed, and the impressive view.
