After the great success of the novel "Frohburg", the publishing house Schöffling & Co. now brings out the collected prose of Guntram Vesper. The volume "Nördlich der Liebe und südlich des Hasses" (North of Love and South of Hate) gathers together in their entirety the texts from the volume of the same name already published in the 70s, as well as texts from "Kriegerdenkmal ganz hinten". So, on just under 700 pages, there are texts that are about 40 years old, which nevertheless make a particle-perfect book about our country and our times. The invented, remembered and reconstructed stories, the fragments, the short novels and long anecdotes tell of city and country, of suburbanites and villagers, of neighbours and relatives, of home and strangers, pistols and dreams, idyll and brutality: German reality and the truth of our days. The journalist and critic Helmut Böttiger has written an epilogue and will also lead the conversation with the author.
