Over five decades of music without interruption - soon three and a half thousand concerts - countless records and CDs - never resting on their laurels, always with head, body and soul "groovin' on vinyl - flammin' on the road", no one really notices the band's long journey, still pouring into the esteemed audience without regard for losses.In the line-up Mani Neumeier - drums, percussion, vocals, kaossilator - ACTION! - Roland Schaeffer - guitar, saxophone, nadaswaram, vocals - Peter Kühmstedt - bass, vocals - Jan Lindqvist - guitar, vocals, lapsteelguitar - the house is rocked with a force that is in no way inferior to the furor of the first hour - 1968! - The band saw the light of day in the early days of independent German rock music - when they broke away from the Anglo-Saxon models and found their own artistic forms - and over time amalgamated with fusion, world music and many other ingredients - although it always remained Guru Guru - and even today a current version of the "Elektrolurch" is still in the program. Somehow it is a small miracle how Guru Guru has kept energy, joy of playing and originality.
Always an established force in the German-speaking world, the band could prove itself in many other parts of the world - in the USA, Japan, everywhere in Europe. Guru Guru was first German band in the legendary Rockpalast, television debut in the venerable Beat Club, over five decades "on the scene"!
