For over twenty years, Biggi Veira and Daníel Ágúst and their project GusGus have been counted as one of the most exciting Icelandic exports when it comes to electronic music. A broad term to be sure, but to break GusGus' music down into individual genres and subgenres is already beyond the scope of this press release. In the last years of their career alone they showed their skills in the genres TripHop, Synth-Pop, Deep Techno, Progressive House - just to name a few. Since the release of "Mexico", with hits like "Obnoxiously Sexual" and "Crossfade" in 2015, it had been quiet around them for a while.
Now the promotion machine for their new album "Lies Are More Flexible" is slowly but surely starting up. They recently unveiled the driving title track live in a session for station KEXP, and the single "Featherlight" has been available to hear since last June. Both tracks give hope for another great album. If you've ever been to a GusGus show, you'll know that their music is always accompanied by a perfectly coordinated visuals and light show, which adds another, equally impressive layer to their drop and head kino music.
