Guitar, banjo, clarinet, flute, percussion, horn: Tcha Limberger learned a wide variety of instruments before finding the one with which he became best known, the violin. Equally diverse are the genres with which the Belgian multi-instrumentalist, who will make his debut at the Alte Oper Frankfurt in March, has been and continues to be involved. One focus is on gypsy jazz, also called jazz manouche, as it existed even before musicians like Django Reinhardt made it famous. At the same time, Limberger is interested in contemporary music (he also studied composition), in the musical culture of the Bolivian Quechua and in the music of Hungary and Transylvania. The multi-instrumentalist will carry this universal understanding of music to the Mozart Saal of the Alte Oper on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 8 p.m. on. For his evening as part of the world music series, the musician brings his father Vivi Limberger (guitar and vocals) and his colleagues Renaud Dardenne (guitar) and Vilmos Csikos (double bass).
