A Song for Nour (or The Idol as its international title) is about the young taxi driver Mohammed Assaf from Gaza who, together with his sister Nour, sometimes sings at family parties - and about how Nour is dying. When one day he is offered the chance to perform in front of an international television audience, Mohammed must go to Cairo - whatever the cost.
Great pictures, incredibly good actors, poignant music - Hany Abu-Assad (Paradise Now, Omar...) delivers us a treat for the senses!
