U.S. - Mexican Borderland, Arizona. 'The Frontier' or 'La Frontera'. The Border Patrol's high-tech security policy reaches far inland, and people live between surveillance equipment, with fears of terror, and with the border fence already 1,100 km long. The tense situation in the borderlands has long divided residents into two camps. Some are calling for even more border security, others for more humanitarian aid. The question is: Does more security technology bring more security - or more deaths?
This documentary tells from the perspective of the desert inhabitants of a life on the geographical edge of the United States. It follows locals, NGOs and paramilitaries as they navigate the borderlands.
