Resigned shirt salesman Wikström takes heart one day, puts not only his wife's house keys but also his wedding ring on the kitchen table (next to the cactus hiding the liquor bottle) and sets off for a new life. He meets Khaled, a Syrian who has made it to Finland as a stowaway aboard a coal freighter. Wikström acquires a run-down restaurant "with plenty of room for improvement" - along with two inept chefs. A fresh idea is needed, as well as a passport for Khaled - legal or not. And another challenge awaits the team: Khaled's sister, whom he lost on the Balkan route, must also enter the country.
