Look forward to an exciting guided tour with Björn Wissenbach on Halloween with flashlights through the unlit Frankfurt Main Cemetery. Dark it was, the moon shone bright.Strolling through magnificent trees with their mighty shadows, you can explore the various fashions and architectural styles through the ages at Frankfurt's Main Cemetery by looking at the elaborate mausoleums and gravestones. Special attention is paid on this tour to the biographies of great Frankfurt personalities who found their final resting place here. Learn all about the history of famous Frankfurt personalities such as the literary figures Ricarda Huch, Heinrich Hoffmann and Friedrich Stoltze, the philosophers Arthur Schopenhauer and Anselm Feuerbach, the famous romantics Dorothea von Schlegel and Marianne von Willemer von Alois Alzheimer, Franz Adickes, the Bethmann family and Mathias Beltz. Please note that the graves shown may vary. Björn Wissenbach lets you look behind the scenes of the graves and reveals many a curious story about Frankfurt's beautiful and also mystical main cemetery. So, for example, why the gravesite of Paulinchen, who died so young, is one of the most visited in Frankfurt's main cemetery. Take a look at the famous Gans Mausoleum together with him and learn in this "Halloween"-tour what our All Souls' Day actually has to do with the rather newfangled Halloween. And who knows, you might even meet one or the other mystical figure on Halloween at Frankfurt's main cemetery. Please note: Since the main cemetery is not illuminated and the sun sets at 5:30 p.m., the cemetery closes already at 6 p.m. in autumn and no visitor can get in or maybe out. Please, to protect yourself from demons and ghosts, be sure to bring a flashlight to the tour. Are you ready? (Text: Frankfurter Stadtevents)
