At just 25 years old, Halsey already looks back on a remarkable biography with ups and downs. January 17 marks the release of her long-awaited third studio album, "Manic," and single previews like "11 Minutes" are already casting big shadows ahead. As soon as the record is on the market, the singer goes on a world tour and visits the Jahrhunderthalle on February 9th. Supporting her will be Manchester-based indie-pop band Pale Waves. Already during her childhood, Halsey has to cope with many moves, bullying and a diagnosed bipolar disorder. At 17, she leaves behind the four walls at home in the wasteland of New Jersey and moves to Brooklyn. The metropolis of millions, her relationship at the time, and intermittent homelessness inspire her to write songs. At a young age, Halsey, who creates her stage name as an anagram of her first name Ashley, learns to play multiple instruments, mastering piano, clarinet, mandolin, cello, and violin, among other instruments. Halsey uploads her first songs to platforms like YouTube and Soundcloud in 2012, with her confidence as an artist growing as her success grows. In early 2014, she released "Ghost," a song about her ex-boyfriend, which gained popularity within hours and earned her several offers from record labels. From there, things take off for the singer-songwriter.
