The Funk Freaks are a worldwide operating DJ - collective, which has a special focus on the sound of the 80s; specifically Boogie, Disco, Modern Soul and Funk.
"People" tend to associate the genre "Funk" with the black music of the 60s and 70s, however this "Funk" also existed in the 80s. Who doesn't know Michael Jackson's "Thriller" or the " Off the Wall" - album? However, between '79 and '84 many records were released that didn't make it to the radio stations of the time, as many acts and their indie labels didn't have the financial means to commercially market their mostly very high-quality and creative productions.
And it's exactly these gems that our DJs fish out of the treasure chest of funk for you. "Strictly Vinyl" is also the mission here, rare, very danceable seven inch singles will find their way onto the turntables, but also the one or other classic will surely be heard in the course of this night.
