Presenter: Denis Scheck Denis Scheck in conversation with the author about his great Hauptmann novel The writer Hans Pleschinski tells of the writer Gerhart Hauptmann in his novel "Wiesenstein". It is a work of episodes, shocks, love, fear, hope, despair as well as tensions and suspense. Pleschinski tells of the end of the war, the loss of home and the great escape. He brings to life a world that seems lost to the present. The work of Gerhart Hauptmann also comes to the fore, right down to unknown diary entries. "Wiesenstein", published by C.H. Beck Verlag, is a brother book to "Königsallee". In the latter, Pleschinski devotes himself to Thomas Mann's love and passion in Düsseldorf. Here you will learn the story of the errant genius Gerhart Hauptmann and the twilight of a sinking world. The conversation with the author will be led by publicist and critic Denis Scheck.
