He is undoubtedly one of the most popular and successful film composers in the world: Hans Zimmer. A dozen Oscar nominations, numerous awards - including already two Academy Awards®, three Golden Globes®, four Grammys®, an American Music Award and a Tony® Award - and great critical praise for his compositions have brought him worldwide fame. The Frankfurt-born composer and artist, endowed with a unique musical talent, reached Hollywood via England and is responsible for more than 500 works to date. With his beautiful, fascinating as well as spectacular and an incredibly large spectrum of melodies and compositions, it is ultimately he who breathes the tension, drama, romance or even melancholy into films such as "The Dark Knight", "Dunkirk", "Gladiator", "Interstellar", "Dune" - to name just a fraction - and thus gives them the magic that makes people flock to the cinemas day after day in large numbers.
That Hans Zimmer can effortlessly conjure up the same magic with his musical masterpieces in huge concert arenas was demonstrated by his recent tour, which celebrated unforgettable and truly triumphant successes across Europe in sold-out halls. Much to the delight of his numerous fans, "The King of Sound" (Die Rheinpfalz) announced the continuation of his successful tour and thus his return to German as well as international stages. Together with his outstanding live band and orchestra, the world-famous Hollywood composer will play concerts in 15 countries starting in April 2023 as part of his "Hans Zimmer Live - Europe Tour 2023", including stops in Portugal, Spain and Slovakia for the first time. For Germany, the tour schedule includes Oberhausen (April 23), Frankfurt (April 27), Stuttgart (April 29), Hanover (May 20), Munich (May 24), Berlin (May 26), Hamburg (May 28) and Cologne (June 9).
Accompanied by a completely new, groundbreaking sound and light show, Hans Zimmer will present his legendary world successes together with his band and the Odessa Orchestra, firing off "an emotional as well as musical firework on stage" (NDR). The newly arranged concert suites include GLADIATOR, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, THE DARK KNIGHT, INTERSTELLAR, THE LION KING and THE LAST SAMURAI, as well as the hit film DUNE. For the latter, Zimmer was awarded his second Oscar in late March 2022 during his tour stop in Amsterdam.
