Hellmut Hattler has long since ceased to be an unknown quantity: since the 70s he has been considered a permanent musical fixture, and with Kraan he created one of Germany's most successful jazz rock bands to date. After years of working as a composer and producer (for Tina Turner, among others), the gifted bassist combines electronics, jazz, soul, pop and psychedelic club sounds with his current band project Hattler. Despite his artistic versatility and changeability, he has always remained true to himself and his style. Nobody dares to doubt that music is the center of his life.
Hattler's new album "Velocity" was produced during a period of serious illness. On it, his enormous lust for life comes across as palpably powerful and strong-willed, every line more believable than ever, every riff ambitious and passionate.
On Thursday, Oct. 17. October, Centralstation visitors can look forward to old hits and new songs.
