The early 1980s Sheffield synth-pop formation, featuring original band members Martyn Ware and Glenn Gregory, confirm two exclusive club concerts in Frankfurt and Mannheim in December 2019 as part of their (We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang tour. Heaven 17 is known to rely primarily on synthesizers and drum machines as instruments. The band had their first success in 1981 with the debut single (We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang. The track attracted attention as it quickly became the anthem of left-wing groups and was boycotted by the BBC in England due to its very political lyrics. As especially the content of this piece is more than topical again in today's time, it gives the mini-tour its well-deserved name. The band had their greatest successes in 1983 with the song Temptation and the ballad Come Live with Me from the LP The Luxury Gap, which you can look forward to at the live spectacle alongside songs like Let Me Go, This Is Mine and Sunset Now from the album How Men Are (1984). Overall, expect a best-of set of songs that will leave nothing to be desired.
