From the beginning, satire has been used to fight belief systems, worldviews, and social classes.
Satire is opposition, self-defense, and weapon. Satire opposes all coercion, all exercise of power, hierarchies, and above all stupidity.
What is satire allowed to do? Anything it can.
What can satire do? Anything it wants.
What does satire want? Everything it must.
What must satire do? Nothing.
There is no such thing as bad satire: bad satire is none.
Henning Venske has earned his reputation as the best satirist in the republic since the 1970s with great effort.
