The Herbert Pixner Project around the South Tyrolean multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Herbert Pixner (diatonic harmonica, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, percussion) currently ranks with Manuel Randi (flamenco guitar, electric guitar, gypsy guitar) Heidi Pixner (harp) and Werner Unterlercher (double bass) among the most successful national acts in the field of "progressive folk music".

Any regional attribution is superfluous with this project, however, because it can't explain the power of their stage presence anyway.

With playful-lascivious gentleness, massive rock and blues riffs, brilliant technique and enormous joy in playing, the four exceptional musicians build musical bridges between their remote home regions with their unconventional line-up.
Euphoria, energy, excitement and a lot of free improvisation: this is the mixture with which the "Herbert Pixner Project" has been electrifying and thrilling audiences for years.
Intelligent, authentic instrumental music with a lot of ease in a fabulous interplay. Diverse sound carpets are woven here, there is room for gentle melancholy and also for outbursts that stop at nothing. Minimalistic, rugged, epic and very sexy it sounds. Free, untamed, cool reserved and at times so passionately demanding that you almost forget that live there are only four people on stage.

Now Herbert Pixner's own compositions, that successful blend of local folk music, world music and blues are condensed for the first time through professional arrangements with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra.
A sound spectacle beyond compare.
