It's that time of year again: year after year, the Hessentag, first held in 1961, attracts thousands of enthusiastic visitors to a select Hessian town for events to suit every target group and taste. This year, the beautiful town of Korbach in northern Hesse will be the venue for the 38th Hessentag from 25 May to 2 June. In addition to plenty of culinary food options, a state exhibition, readings and interesting exhibitions, the entertainment program is primarily the focus of every Hessentag.

As usual, the core modules of the state festival form the basic structure of the Hessentag: the state exhibition, the festival tent, the special show "On the trail of nature" and the grand procession at the end. The Hessentag in Korbach reflects in great breadth the diversity of the rural area in Hessen and its great potential for the future. Under the motto "Land has a future - Heimat Hessen", the stage programme in Hall 1 offers information on state policy issues, advisory and support services for rural regions, as well as cultural highlights from various parts of the state.
Also well-known offers on the festival grounds such as the "Trachtenland Hessen" with its varied stage programme or the largest special exhibition to date with around 80 exhibitors and direct marketers "On the trail of nature" of the Hessian Ministry of the Environment underline the bond of the Hessians with their homeland and life in the countryside. Visitors to the joint stand of the "Hessen Creates Knowledge" initiative of the Hessian Ministry of Science and the Arts will be able to experience the diversity of Hessen as an educational location and its training and research facilities in the regions as well. The Hessentag town of Korbach will also be placing a special emphasis on the "Square of Innovation" with its business development department: regional entrepreneurs and experts from a wide range of fields will be presenting themselves there every day to provide information on topics such as digitalisation, start-up companies or new ways of working and to demonstrate the economic potential of rural areas.
For all young visitors, the dm-Kinderland has surprises in store. Here they can romp, marvel and experience many fantastic stories. Sport is not neglected either with more than 100 events. Those who have always wanted to know how ski jumpers feel or spontaneously feel like playing "Human Table Soccer" can try it out at the "Festival of Sports". On all ten days, there are numerous activities to watch and participate in at the Sport and Youth Village at the Hessentag.
In the evenings, numerous music stars will be playing in the Continental Arena. The big "hr3 Festival" with Sunrise Avenue, Adel Tawil and Revolverheld will kick things off. On the following days, rockers Mando Diao, the Kaiser Chiefs and Santiano, among others, will set the mood. HIT RADIO FFH invites to the nineties festival "Just90s!" and presents "Cro und Co". In the marquee, "Die Lochis und Mike Singer", the Nockalm Quintett, Culcha Candela and Niedeckens BAP will delight their fans. On the Sparkasse open-air stage, the Waldeck Chamber Orchestra's Opera-Air Classic and a guest performance by the Bad Hersfeld Festival will take place, and Ulla Meinecke & Band and Florian Schröder will also perform, among others. In addition, as every year, the Hessischer Rundfunk will feature radio and television broadcasts as well as show performances at the hr-Treff.
