The media world was surprised by the emotional debut album "Now" of the American musicians. A sound that sounds like sun, freedom and the southern states of the USA and definitely also like the great role models of the band: legendary 70 iger Harmony Vocal Groups like The Eagles, The Byrds or Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. The magic and timelessness inherent in the songs from this decade has never been triturated by any fads and High South seem to be exactly the band to carry the spirit of this music into the future.
The first record deal and the recording of "Now" took the musicians at the beginning of their career for the time being away from their home to Europe and among others also to London to the private recording studio of Dire Straits legend Mark Knopfler. The host did not miss the opportunity to attend the recording sessions for almost a whole day in order to give the band a musical accolade with his praise and recognition. And a real "Eagle" stopped by as well, Don Felder, the man who composed "Hotel California" and who was also thrilled with the authenticity of the music.
Bandleader Jamey Garner says "It was like the music gods looked down on us and blessed us" and the blessing of those gods was to pay off right after the completion of Now.
After the album's release in Europe in the summer of 2013, they already made it to the top 10 of the album sales charts in some countries!
