This year, the motto of the Höchster Schlossfest is: "Höchst turns the wheel"
It starts on July 5 with the Harbour Festival, followed by the Festival of Clubs on the weekend of July 6 and 7. The festival ends with the concert of lights in the Justinuskirsche church on July 14, 2024
Sitting in a cosy pub on an idyllic castle square surrounded by picturesque half-timbered houses and enjoying the view of a magical castle complex with a glass of cider - isn't that nice? No problem, because that's exactly what Höchster Schlossplatz offers in the old town of Frankfurt's famous industrial district, which was almost completely spared during the Second World War. The castle, which became the property of the German Foundation for Monument Protection after a ceremonial handover of the keys on March 8, 2002, forms the perfect backdrop for the Höchster Schlossfest, which for over 60 years has turned the old town of Höchst into a venue for a wide variety of cultural and civic events for four weeks.
The Höchster Schlossfest consists of various components: Old Town Festival, a small amusement park and many other individual events or series of events. The castle festival has been very different since 2023. For one thing, the large amusement park on the Main no longer exists, but only a small parish fair below Brüningpark. The fireworks also no longer take place.
