Before 75 years of HOLIDAY ON ICE will be celebrated with a big anniversary show next year, there will be a wonderful, spectacular and mystical journey to ATLANTIS. The audience will be taken on an imaginative journey full of colour, magic and beauty. It means diving into the most magnificent, richest and most enchanting island kingdom of all legends: Atlantis, which sank into the sea with all its inhabitants in just one night and one day. Until today the myth inspires the spirit of discovery of scientists and historians - and our imagination. The HOLIDAY ON ICE production team is staging the legend for the first time as an ice show for the tour season starting in November. A cast of 35 international professional skaters, trained in ice and aerial acrobatics, will bring snapshots of life and love in Atlantis to life in above- and underwater scenes.
"The Legend of Atlantis holds an incredible trove of ideas for all the crucial aspects of a rousing live show on ice: dramaturgy, choreography, costumes, scenery and music," says Robin Cousins, creative director and choreographer, describing his fascination with the project. "Not least due to the technical perfection of our runners, the journey into this magical realm above and below the water becomes a unique experience for the audience."
