Hollow Coves is the project of Australians Ryan Henderson and Matt Carins. The two met in 2013 through mutual friends and quickly realized they shared a love of traveling the world and acoustic music. Without further ado, they began writing songs with no guidelines and no expectation of where it would take them, for the sheer joy of music and sound.
In short order, this grew into a dynamic folk band that is passionate about traveling, experiencing new places, and incorporating much of what they hear and experience along the way into their music. Originally from Brisbane, Henderson and Carins developed their songs in different corners of the world. They sent ideas around the interconnected globe, collaborating over the internet with their good friend and producer Hayden Smith. It's no wonder then that their debut EP from 2017 was exceedingly appropriately titled "Wanderlust": Their first released song, "The Woods," came about when one was snowboarding in Canada while the other was traveling across Europe. The song immediately went sky high on the hype machines and charts and was streamed millions of times. Influenced by the likes of Angus & Julia Stone, Ben Howard and The Paper Kites, Hollow Coves have long since found their own dynamic style in indie folk with earthy sounds, flying melodies and great complementary vocal harmonies. In 2018, the guys were on tour with Tom Walker and thrilled their fans at various gigs such as the Reeperbahn or Cardinal Sessions Festival. At the moment Hollow Coves are working on their debut album, with which they will come on headlining tour in November to take us to the warmth of Australia in the cold winter.
