The DAM, together with Callwey Verlag, is holding the "HOUSES OF THE YEAR" competition for the 7th time. The best single-family houses in German-speaking countries are sought. These show high architectural quality, have a special spatial design and deal appropriately with their urban or rural environment. Aesthetics, materials and construction merge to form an intelligent and authentic unit that provides a contemporary answer to the building task of a single-family house. The first prize is endowed with prize money of 10,000 euros, and other offices will receive an award. The 50 best houses will be published in the book HOUSES OF THE YEAR 2017.
The House of the Year impresses with the highest architectural quality, is unique and coherent in form, spatial design and materiality, was individually designed for its occupants and appropriately engages with its urban or rural environment.
