A group of children goes on a research trip to the last things. They gather questions and search for answers about life and what comes after. As naturally as children do. They talk about saying goodbye to animals and people and find stories, rituals, sounds, images about the last journey. Unbiased, empathetic and quite cheerful, they make their audience familiar with a topic that belongs to life like light and shadow. They encourage young and old to think and talk. The grandpa dies. The rabbit suddenly stops moving. Someone is seriously ill. The subject of death and dying is by no means one that only affects adults. Children, too, have their own experiences with it. And they dare to ask the supposedly simple questions: Why do animals and people have to die? What is it like to be dead? And what comes afterwards? Children are curious, have many questions, their own answers and usually have an uninhibited view of a subject that is otherwise often taboo. In connection with the exhibition "leben aus gestorben" (living from dying), the children involved explore dying and death in many different ways. This results in an afternoon of theatre that encourages watching children to ask their own questions in an easy and uninhibited way. We want to show that thinking about death is a question about life. And that children do not automatically have to become sad when talking about death.
