In Walser's play, three wives of former dictators meet at a press conference to discuss the planned film version of their lives: Mrs Imelda, Mrs Leila and Mrs Margot. At first they chat with each other like nice neighbours: about parties with Stalin and hand kisses from Mao, about shoes and bulletproof bras. But as time goes by, the women increasingly clash. The ladies become more and more entangled in the cruel deeds of their past, and eventually outdo each other in their monstrosities. An interpreter desperately tries to mediate and prevent a cultural and diplomatic disaster with all kinds of translation tricks. Caro Thum works after "The Farewell Dinner" for the second time in Darmstadt.
