A furious one-man play that won (among others) the Pulitzer Prize: It centers on Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, born Lothar Berfelde in Berlin Mahlsdorf in 1928, surrounded by a cast of diverse characters. It tells her extraordinary story and at the same time pays tribute to her life's achievements: the construction and preservation of the Gründerzeit Museum as well as her fight for more tolerance. Her life comes to life once again on stage. "Ich mach ja doch, was ich will" is a haunting story about the strength and idealism it takes to realize an idea against all odds and also about the price that has to be paid for it. The audience will experience an exciting journey through time in the twentieth century with its political and social contradictions - with all its ups and downs.
