In this piece, female poets from the Persian-speaking world (Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan) and from different, past eras until today meet. The multifaceted images in their poems, which reflect their thoughts, their desires and their life stories and at the same time their courage to change, are mostly performed in song form. A dialogue between these women through their poetry connects their destinies to each other and to the long, unfinished journey of the struggle for emancipation and equality. Niloofar Beyzaie (playwright and director) Born 1967 in Tehran / Iran. She has been living in exile in Frankfurt am Main since 1985. She studied German language and literature, theater- film and television studies and education at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main (graduated in 1994, Magister Artium) and founded the theater group 'Daritsche' in Frankfurt in the same year. Since then she has been directing and writing plays and writing articles about theatre. In her plays, she deals with Iran and human destinies with a socially critical eye. Themes and main concerns of her works are: 'woman', 'being a stranger' and 'the suffering of the individual in the mass', exile as well as adapting literary texts into plays and experimenting with the possibilities of documentary theatre and political theatre. Her more than twenty staged plays have been performed with more than 300 performances throughout Europe, the United States and in Canada, and she is considered one of the most active Iranian theatre makers in exile. She has received several awards from Iranian theater and cultural societies in exile such as the 'World Academy of Arts, Literature and Media' in Budapest (2005), Audience Award of the Iranian-German Theater Festival in Heidelberg (2018), 'Pasargad Cultural Heritage Foundation' in USA (2018), and most recently by the "Cultural Society of Iranian Women Vancouver" as 'Woman of the Year' for her longstanding theatre work and the thematization of women in her plays (2018).
