.In over two exciting decades, IN EXTREMO have thus grown together to become one of the most popular and successful German formations, shaping the entire European music landscape with their distinctive sound and inspiring millions of listeners to this day. Today, with over 1.5 million records sold, the Berliners represent Germany's most successful medieval rock band. Pioneers of their genre, they have continued to evolve on each and every one of their 12 studio albums released to date, and have not only made their instantly recognizable blend of centuries-old instruments such as market bagpipes, exotic harmonies, partly Latin lyrics and powerful heavy guitars respectable, but have catapulted them to the top of the German charts!
So the last six albums reached the top 3 each: With "7", released in 2003, and "Mein rasend Herz", which followed a year and a half later, IN EXTREMO each entered the charts in 3rd place (both gold), while "Saengerkrieg" from 2008 and "Sterneneisen", released in 2011, each shot to 1st place in the charts (also both gold). After the band reached 2nd place in the charts with their 2013 album "Kunstraub", IN EXTREMO cemented their status with last year's Top 1 album "Quid Pro Quo".
In September, the troupe around frontman Micha "Das Letzte Einhorn" Rhein is now thanking their loyal fans with a very special work show: On the Best Of compilation "40 wahre Lieder" IN EXTREMO have united 40 hand-picked song highlights from over twenty rampant years of band history on an opulent 2CD & 3DVD or 2 Blue Ray package for the ultimate greatest hits round-up!
And in December In Extremo will continue their successful QUID PRO QUO tour to present the fans exactly these hits from 20 True Years and 40 True Songs again live, in fire and in color!
