Berlin, 2017 - "Originally, I wanted the show <.x>Ampersand#039;The Butcher with the Foil'. But then I was afraid of attacks by fundamentalist vegans," says Ingmar Stadelmann, grinning mischievously. Already the poster, borrowed from the Russian performance artist Pyotr Pavlensky, who actually sewed his mouth shut in public against apathy, political indifference and fatalism in Russia, proves: Ingmar Stadelmann is not just another mainstream jokester. When Stadelmann started in 2012 with his first solo "Was ist denn los mit den Menschen?", there were heaps of comedy awards for it: "From the Hamburg Comedy Pokal" to the "RTL Comedy Grand Prix" to the "German Comedy Award", he has received them all.
Only to dive in 2015 just not in the RTL fairway, but to dare an artistic development. #humorphob was his answer to terrorist attacks from a stand-up comedian's point of view, celebrated by the audience and critics. Sometimes even by both at the same time, as at the "Großer Kleinkunstpreis der Wühlmäuse" in Berlin: Stadelmann won the audience and jury prizes in one evening. Few comedians before him had managed that.
The Russian Pavlensky, by the way, ended up in a psychiatric ward. Ingmar Stadelmann, on the other hand, fortunately has the stage and his audience for his therapy. Now he shows with Fressefreiheit his self-created universe, which dissolves the boundaries between cabaret and comedy. Between influencer and comedian, between Serdar Somuncu and Dieter Nuhr, Stadelmann berlins himself provocatively but with mischievous charm into the hearts of his fans.
