Indie-Rock Concert at KESSELHAUS
Already in the year after their formation in 2009, Intergalactic Lovers, the band around singer Lara Chedraoui, secured two of Belgium's most important newcomer awards. Their music is distinctly spherical. Melancholic, almost gloomy and sometimes unwieldy, it is held together by straightforward drumming as well as the impressive voice and relentlessly open lyrics of their charismatic frontwoman. Interpol, The Cure, New Order have left their mark on the band's sound, and Chedraoui's vocals are reminiscent not least of PJ Harvey, Feist or Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Their latest album, "Exhale," came out in September.
