In the Summer of Love 1967 a band was formed that in the following years would send the world on a musical trip filled with billowing sounds, mystical orgies of sound, psychedelic aural images and swathes of purple light: Pink Floyd. Already on their debut album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, the four Englishmen showed where the journey would lead with their experimental instrumental Interstellar Overdrive.
30 years later - summer 1997: Interstellar Overdrive takes material shape in the form of the Wiesbaden band of the same name. Still considered an insider tip at the beginning, the band develops into an experience of a special kind in the years to come. The six musicians have made it their business to draw their audience under the spell of the mystical, offbeat sounds of Pink Floyd. Thus, time and again, they embark on a journey through time and space with many lovers of Floydian art, who have often travelled far and wide, and let the music of the masters of psychedelic rock blossom anew.
With great attention to detail and love for the music, Interstellar Overdrive have dedicated themselves to the Floyds' material, which can already be called classic. Numerous works from The Piper at the Gates of Dawn to the 1979 album The Wall are featured in every Pink Floyd authentic concert. With great dedication, entire albums such as Dark Side Of The Moon, Animals and Wish You Were Here are played in one piece. The lighting, tailored to the music, lets the audience immerse themselves in the warm atmosphere of great music and float gently above the ground for a few hours.
