First Ladies of Irish Folk
Nobody who has seen the "More Maids" live can resist their charm. Three women, three hair colours, three types - one music!
The trademark of the band is the three-part singing, the velvety voice of Barbara Coerdt is the centre of attention. The songs are partly typically Irish, partly have acoustic-pop influences, but are rooted throughout in the Irish tradition of "storytelling".
The More Maids are not only convincing vocally, however, they also play their typical Irish instruments masterfully and let the sparks fly between the songs again and again with snappy dance pieces. Barbara Hintermeier, the young newcomer on the fiddle, impresses all along the line and is one of the best fiddlers the German scene has to offer. Marion Fluck sets highlights on various flutes, whistles and accordion. Barbara Coerdt underlines the whole with impressive bouzouk playing. All three "Maids" together simply have that "something" of charisma and humour on stage.
A concert evening with feel-good guarantee, and that despite the partly gruesome murder ballads and the many broken hearts (only in the songs, of course!).
