'Every year again', so also this year, the narrator Heinz-Günter Heygen, the vocal soloists Ingrid Schwarz and Peter Petrel and the musicians of the New Orleans Connection Jazzband invite you to a cheerfully contemplative journey through Advent on the 1st of Advent in the Christ Church in Hanau. Combine your visit to the concert with a stroll through the Hanau Christmas Market and the newly created FORUM at Freiheitsplatz.
You can rejoice that narrator Heinz Günter Heygen, one of Hessischer Rundfunk's best-known presenters, will be with us again. Hanau music lovers will also be looking forward to HGH, as he hosted the NOC jazz band's Riverboatshuffle for 15 years with great success. With literary finds, thoughtful and uplifting, sometimes funny stories, poems and anecdotes, HG Heygen will cover a wide range around Christmas.
In the musical setting, there will be a reunion with singer Ingrid Schwarz and singer Peter Petrel. She comes from a family of musicians in Mannheim and had her first performance as a singer in her father Joe Schwarz's band at the Circus Roncalli when she was only five years old.... And Peter Petrel is more than friendly with the NOC jazz band. 22 years of Riverboatshuffle, trips to New Orleans and many concerts together prove this impressively. Together with the NOC Jazzband they sing German and American Christmas songs, certainly also the song 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' which has already been clicked on more than 11500 times on www.YouTube.com. Also the line-up of the New Orleans Connection Jazzband lets expect a lot of joy. With them the trumpeter of the Wiesbadener Juristenband Dr. Dieter Arlet, 'Mr. Clarinet' Siggi Gerhard, Peter Wichert trombone and the swinging rhythm section with Christoph Neubronner, a pianist of the extra class, the bassist Jann Meyer and the drummer Dr. Manfred 'Mano' Weiss.
