US-American James Newton Howard is one of the most successful and well-known film music composers in the world. From 21 November 2017, he can be experienced on his first live concert tour. On this tour, the Grammy and Emmy award winner will present highlights from three decades of film music from top-class Hollywood productions in seven major cities in Germany and Austria.
James Newton Howard is currently working on the soundtrack to the Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which hits theaters this November. He is best known for his music for the films Pretty Woman, Lord of the Tides, The Sixth Sense and King Kong. His more recent work includes the soundtracks to The Huntsman & The Ice Queen, Shattering Truth, The Dark Knight and Blood Diamond. His most recent success is the music for The Tribute to Panem including the song "The Hanging Tree", sung by Jennifer Lawrence, which made it to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 US chart as well as the top spots on numerous hit lists worldwide. More than 1.2 million music fans follow the composer each month on Spotify.
In the "The Best of 30 Years of Hollywood" concert series, audiences will experience highlights of his career with music, film segments and compelling stories. James Newton Howard will conduct a live symphony orchestra and chorus of more than 100 artists, lead them through selections of recent and classic hit films, and share his extensive and varied experience scoring some of the most successful productions in film history. The program will be rounded out by on-screen contributions from longtime Hollywood collaborators, as well as video clips and film montages.
