Two terrible events are seemingly connected: In the marketplace of the Finnish provincial city of Turku, a naked man goes at a policeman with a knife under the fountain and is shot dead; a house burns down and a young boy burns to death in his room. Detective Kimmo Joentaa assists his colleague Petri Grönholm in solving the case, in which two family stories are tragically intertwined.
It's another finely spun literary crime novel from author Jan Costin Wagner, who lives near Frankfurt. He again shows his mastery in uncovering the most hidden human fears, finding an almost poetic language for the dark landscapes of his characters' souls.
Sakari Learns to Walk Through Walls was published by Galiani. The author will also return to the grand piano between reading passages to play his quiet ballads.
