The trio JazzSalon from Frankfurt, Lich and Friedberg elegantly combines a passion for jazz with a love of chanson. The trio's repertoire includes jazzy arrangements of mainly German songs, jazz standards and many of their own compositions. Singer and lyricist Evi Machui enchants with her warm, deep and sensual voice. She is a strong stage personality, who does not reduce performances to music alone, but tells stories to the songs, so that she lets the music live in the truest sense of the word. Inspired by artists such as Hildegard Knef and Lisa Bassenge, "Frau Chanson" gives the trio's music its very special touch. Andreas Müller and Michael Will are musically at home in different areas between modern jazz and improvised music. Andreas Müller is the man at the piano and creates the congenial sound topography to the vocals with his dynamic and elegant keyboard playing. Michael Will on double bass gives every song depth and a mysterious sonority. His precise and focused playing gives the trio's music its special and recognizable sound.
