The renowned Freiburg Jazz Choir comes to us for the first time on tour with its just newly released program "Infusion".
"Infusion" - is that a tea or the injection from the doctor? Neither - but healthy this music certainly is: jazz between 1970 and today, starting with the fusion era. It starts with Joe Zawinul, Pat Metheny, Keith Jarrett up to now with E.S.T. and Olivia Trummer. And what's for sure: no choir has ever sung this before! Because the originally mostly instrumental music first had to be lyricized and arranged with great creativity. Everything was tailor-made for the Jazzchor Freiburg. So there is hardly anything more new'in choral music.
The Jazzchor Freiburg under the direction of Bertrand Gröger has earned a first-class international reputation through competition wins, tours of Japan, Korea, China, Russia and many European countries, as well as collaborations with artists such as Max Mutzke, Torun Eriksen, the Swingles and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra.
The guest choir is Bird'sTalk under the direction of Regina Klein from Frankfurt.
