It was February 2, 1968 at the world famous Marquee Club in Wardour Street when Jethro Tull first performed under that name. The group would go on to become one of the most successful and enduring bands of their era, selling over 60 million albums worldwide and expanding people's cultural, collective consciousness. To celebrate this Golden Anniversary, Ian Anderson presents 50 Years of Jethro Tull as part of a world tour. The debut album, THIS WAS, was released the same year. Founder, frontman and flutist, Ian Anderson, is rightly given the honour of introducing the flute as the main instrument. Jethro Tull are one of the best-selling progressive rock artists of all time and their immensely diverse musical spectrum encompasses folk, blues, classic as well as heavy rock. The anniversary concerts will feature a wide-ranging mix of material, with some tracks influenced by the early days, through to the "heavy hitters" of later Tull albums, This Was, Stand Up, Benefit, Aqualung, Thick As A Brick, Too Old To Rock And Roll: Too Young To Die, Songs From The Wood, Heavy Horses, Crest Of A Knave and even a touch of 2012's TAAB2.
