The Jewish Monkeys are masters at playing with identities, knights of the absurd, musicians and comedians who deliver a rousing show. They like to break ethnic-religious taboos and take out satirical liberating blows. Their neo-Yiddish sound fusion oscillates between circus-like chanson and punky, energetic pop, their language between English and Yiddish.
They don't make jokes at the expense of others, but see themselves in line with the great Jewish comedians, who mastered the supreme discipline by taking the piss out of themselves first and foremost. They are reminiscent of the Marx Brothers and their delight in the illogical, the rampaging unconscious, and the absurdly aggressive comedy.
And one thing is certain: they always get their audiences dancing!
