"Joanthology" is the name of a triple CD compilation by the US-American from woodsy Maine in New England.
Fifteen years of her career are reviewed by the singing multi-instrumentalist on two silver discs; CD 3 documents a "Live At The BBC" session, rare and unreleased material included. With "What A World" there is also a brand new track. How often in recent years have you found yourself sighing at the state of the world and commenting on it with just that statement. What a world... On long walks on the beach she sang to the sound of crashing waves. The lyrics that emerged were rather crude. Painful feelings had to be dealt with. And to deal with the contradiction of inexplicably deriving happiness from trying to survive. "Pain and joy, longing and serenity - I'm looking forward to sharing that with my audience," says Joan Wasser of her "Joanthology" tour, which will feature solo performances, sometimes with guitar, sometimes on piano. In addition to key songs from the anthology, Joan As Police Woman will also be showcasing selections from her second album of covers, which is due for release soon.
