Jon Bellion is one of those artists who makes you wonder how you can be so versatile. Whether he's in front of the mic, at the piano, at the controls or on the lyric sheet, the 28-year-old Long Islander native has it all from writing to performing to producing his songs. His music is a melting pot of diverse influences. Bellion draws inspiration from hip hop, indie rock, disco and Hollywood soundtracks. His idols include Kanye West, Phil Collins, J Dilla, Coldplay and Hans Zimmer. Jon Bellion blends all of these different ingredients to create modern, lively catchy pop.
During high school, however, it wasn't so clear what direction Jon's life was going to take; after all, he was not only a talented musician, but also a pretty gifted basketball player. Luckily he had a friend who sent one of his mixtapes to a label and made the decision for him. He finally dropped out of college at 19 and decided to become a professional songwriter. Under the tutelage of Kara DioGardi, who herself wrote countless hits for various artists, Jon learned how to turn songs into hits.
Among his biggest successes as a writer are Eminem and Rihanna's "Monster" and "Trumpets" by Jason Derulo. He also lent his voice to EDM hits like "Beautiful Now" by Zedd.
