Basic ingredients for the excellent distillate were then as now: Stoner-, Hard-, 70's-, Retro- and Psychedelic-Rock with a strong shot of Blues. The Scandinavians serve this brew to fans of Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Tool or Soundgarden sometimes as a compact and riff-heavy guitar board, sometimes as a sprawling instrumental orgy with solo rides. As members of different formations, a blues fan and two metal-heads share only one rehearsal room in the small town of Varberg in eastern Sweden in the 90s. It wasn't until 2001 that Roger Öjersson (vocals, bass), Thomas "Juneor" Andersson (guitar, vocals) and Tobias Strandvik (drums) decided to pool their talents after jamming together and develop a musical vision as a threesome. The band Kamchatka was born. After the departure of bassist Roger Öjersson, Kamchatka decided to record their now fifth album 'The Search Goes On' again in their own Shrimpmonkey Studio, located in Thomas "Juneor" Andersson and Tobias Strandvik's hometown Varberg. Quickly the two had also agreed on the producer for the album, their long-time friend and colleague Per Wiberg (Candlemass, Ex-Opeth, King Hobo, Spiritual Beggars etc), who in addition to his role as producer of the band, decided without further ado in consultation with his two friends to join Kamchatka permanently as the third band member on bass. After the great success of the previous album 'The Search Goes On', Kamchatka continued on their path consistently and continued with the new album 'Long Road Made Of Gold', which was released in May 2015 on Despotz Records. After a longer partly forced concert - and creativity break, Kamchatka are finally back on German stages and will captivate the concertgoers in their usual manner.
