Almost two and a half years after their last German tour, the Swedish representatives of dark progressive rock are back with their new album "The Fall Of Hearts" and announce five concerts in autumn!
The official follow-up to 2012's "Dead End Kings" was recorded at Stockholm's Gröndahl & Tri-lamb studio, and produced by Anders Nyström & Jonas Renkse himself. It was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Ihsahn, Devin Townsend) at Fascination Street Studios, with Karl Daniel Lidén (Switchblade, The Ocean, Greenleaf) as engineer. The dark cover art was once again created by longtime KATATONIA designer and illustrator Travis Smith.
KATATONIA have spent the last four years since "Dead End Kings" touring the world and continuing to build their fanbase with the release of two special albums on Peaceville sister label Kscope.
2013 they got to the core of the "Dead End Kings" songs with "Dethroned & Uncrowned", recording the album in new moods and textures. In 2015, the live acoustic album and concert film "Sanctitude" followed. These two releases paved the way to their current more progressive sound.
"The Fall of Hearts" is the first album with their new drummer Daniel 'Mojjo' Moilanen and with their recently recruited guitarist Roger Öjersson (Tiamat), who came on board just in time to contribute some blistering solos.
KATATONIA are exploring their musical boundaries beyond their metal roots, drawing in new fans from the musical spectrum of bands like Opeth and Anathema. At the same time they cement their status as one of the most appreciated and popular bands in the world of modern heavy music.
In September and October all fans in Germany can also convince themselves of the songs of the new album when they perform in Leipzig, Frankfurt, Cologne, Berlin and Hamburg.
