Virtuoso piano art
Self-confident, stylish and worldly, Khatia Buniatishvili exudes modernity like few artists. She lives in Paris, speaks Georgian, English, Russian, French, German and Filipino, and - perhaps partly because of this attitude to life - is a terrific pianist.
Despite her broad horizons and great intellect, she is an emotional person; when she sits at the piano, her dark mop of curls flies in the temperament of the music. "I'm a stage person - I like what the adrenaline does to me on stage." To calm tones as well as to virtuoso repertoire, the pianist finds an individual approach that not infrequently amazes and deeply moves. However, the Georgian artist does not take it easy: "Artistic things don't just happen, there are battles to be fought", she explains with conviction.
