Greatest Hits Tour

(thk) A double anniversary makes Kim Wilde's fall 2022 concert tour a special event: the British pop icon has passed her 60th birthday and has also been in the music business for over 40 years! "Greatest Hits" is the title of those special shows, which will take place two years later than originally planned due to the Corona pandemic. The tour title was chosen for good reason, as Kim Wilde can boast plenty of chart successes. These range from "Kids in America", her mega-seller at the start of her career in 1981, followed by "Chequered Love", the million-selling "Cambodia", "View from a Bridge", "The Second Time", the cover version "You Keep me Hangin' on" to "You Came", "Never trust a Stranger", "Four Letter Word", "Can't get enough (of your Love)" or "Anyplace, anywhere, anytime". After the numerous award-winning "Bardot of pop music" completed a successful acoustic tour in Germany in a small team at the end of 2019, she is now back on the road in this country - but with a rock band! Tickets to Kim Wilde's "Greatest Hits" guest performances are available in advance. Important: The tickets purchased for 2020 as well as 2021 retain their validity!

After Kimberly Smith, as Kim Wilde is called by her real name, on 18. November 2021 celebrated her 61st birthday, she makes herself and her numerous fans with the "Greatest Hits" tour a great gift. The blonde is celebrating not only a private but also a professional anniversary: in 1980, the daughter of musician parents signed her first record contract, which was to be the prelude to an excellent artistic career: With over 30 million records sold, Kim Wilde is one of the most successful singers of the 1980s! When she's not on stage, the mother of two takes care of the interior of her house in Hertfordshire, enjoys cooking (her specialty is green Thai curry) or indulges her passion as a landscape gardener who has won several awards. She has hosted gardening programs on British television and written various articles in newspapers and magazines on the subject. In 2006, her first book ("Gärtnern mit Kindern", Kosmos-Verlag) was published, followed by "first-time gardener" (HarperCollins) in 2007.

In the fall of 2022, Kim Wilde will put aside her shovel as well as her rake and, as a seasoned live entertainer, will again concentrate entirely on music together with her group. Even though she often moved stylistically in the New Wave sound, the admirer of Thin Lizzy, David Bowie and Metallica says about herself: "I'm a rock chick!"
