The knife is one of the oldest tools of mankind. Today we use knives every day and in many different forms, the metal blade is usually in a handle made of metal or plastic. In earlier times, knives were a precious possession, especially for hunters or fishermen, life could depend on it. Even today, there are still particularly high-quality blades to buy without a handle. How does the blade actually get into the handle and how is it securely fastened? Under the guidance of master wood turner and bone carver Astrid Dingeldey, participants will make the handle of a knife from bone and then stitch a knife blank. The workshop price includes a simple knife blank. However, participants are welcome to bring their own knife blanks.
Lead: Astrid Dingeldey, master woodturner and bone carver
