After Norwegians Leprous already rocked local clubs together with Icelanders Agent Fresco in autumn 2017, the two progressive rock bands return to Germany almost a year later. Leprous will present material from their latest album "Malina" (2017), Agent Fresco will perform songs from their work "Destrier" (2015). The two co-headliners will play shows at the following venues: on 03 September 2018 in Nuremberg at Hirsch, on 18 September 2018 in Karlsruhe at Substage, on 19 September 2018 in Frankfurt at Zoom and on 26. September 2018 in Hannover at Musikzentrum. Leprous made a good name for themselves as the backing band of Ihsahn, the new star of progressive metal and former frontman of Norwegian black metallers Emperor. Ihsahn appeared several times as a guest on various Leprous tracks and served as co-producer for the album "Coal" (2013). Leprous subsequently introduced the record on a highly successful tour with Devin Townsend Project. Although commonly billed as a progressive rock or metal band, Einar Solberg, main composer and vocalist, cites Radiohead, Massive Attack, Arvo Pärt, Susanne Sundfør, The Prodigy, and progressive artists such as Porcupine Tree and The Dillinger Escape Plan as influences. In principle, the Skandos stick to their musical trademarks on the current, fifth album "Malina", offering sophisticated progressive sounds of various degrees of heaviness. Restrained synth shimmering, a relentless guitar loop, Einar Solberg's hypnotic vocals, a broad wall of strings and selectively applied bass notes sound fresh, underneath the restless drummer does his rounds over skins and cymbals. Strings, including especially the cello, play a big part in the new songs. The string arrangements blend into the compositions as coherently as if Leprous had always worked with them. "The new album "Malina" feels organic, it sounds natural and contains great songs that are modern," Solberg expresses his satisfaction. "Organic doesn't mean retro! We still sound like Leprous. I think with this album we show ourselves as a rock band rather than a metal band." Co-headlining this tour are Icelanders Agent Fresco. The islanders are ambitious musicians, there is no stagnation or retro sound with them. "Agent Fresco have never been in a comfort zone. We've always been about pushing our musical boundaries further," states vocalist, composer and frontman Arnór Dan Arnarson. In places, the listener of their music can sense where the band is coming from. Untamed, graceful, dangerous and unpredictable - like their music, the nature of their native Iceland is too. "Living in an area that offers summers of never-ending light and winters of almost complete darkness must affect your mental state," Arnason explains. Agent Fresco describe their style as progressive art rock. Formed in 2008, the band released their debut album "A Long Time Listening" in 2010, followed five years later by "Destrier", which they presented at Roskilde and Euroblast. "Rolling Stone" magazine described the music as "moving between searing alt-guitar rock, Steely Dan piano figures and Queens hurrah-screaming stadium rock - all often in the same song - which definitely has a euphoric effect." And "Music Void" sees Agent Fresco's Arnór Dan Arnarson as "a male version of Björk with a band that comes from the Rage Against The Machine direction."
