It sounds like sunbeams on a surging sea, like bittersweet wanderlust, like the white foam of an overseas steamer setting sail: the new LINDA KRIEG TRIO is pure swinging poetry! It was the blues that brought the three artists Linda Krieg (vocals/harmonica/ukulele), Dominik Krauss(guitar) and Klaas Wendling (double bass/backings) together. And in their very own signature they now blend the blues sound with lascivious swing, powerful rockabilly, grounded country and tender singer/songwriter elements. Their music is multi-layered, sometimes accompanied by a self-deprecating wink, and always carried by an irrepressible sensual lust for life. This special timbre and the swinging sound, reminiscent of the sophisticated dinner parties in America in the 1930s and 40s, give the LINDA KRIEG TRIO its unique profile. With songs penned by Linda Krieg and with their own musical arrangements, the trio delivers stylish and danceable light music in the best artistic sense. Linda Krieg has been a fixture on the German blues scene for many years as one of the few female harmonica players and blues singers. Highlights of her versatile career include concerts with international artistic partners like Nashville's Peter Karp, with legends like Wanda Jackson or B.B.& The Bluesshacks. Her charismatic voice, her both expressive and multi-faceted harp style, and her charming stage presence make every concert with Linda Krieg an unforgettable experience. Nafter studying guitar at the Giessen Rock, Pop & Jazz Academy, Dominik Krauss is currently honing his artistic profile as a private student of Brent Mason, the number one country guitarist in Nashville, as well as Carl Verheyen, the guitarist for Supertramp and Hollywood studio musician in L.A.. His artistic projects range from western swing and jazz to blues rock and pop. Klaas Wendling is internationally known as the double bass player of The Baseballs, whose debut album "Strike" reached number one on the charts in quite a few European countries and who received the ECHO Award twice. International tours have taken Klaas Wendling to prominent venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in London, Circus Djurgården in Stockholm and the Cumbre de Tajín Festival in Mexico. His characteristic slapping and swinging sound, to which he is inspired not only by classic blues and New Orleans bassists but also in particular by his mentor Greg Cohen (bassist of Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan and many more), makes him one of the most sought-after double bassists in the German blues scene.
