Lisa Bassenge on big release tour with her new album "Borrowed And Blue".
A gifted songwriter herself, Lisa Bassenge always felt haunted by melodies that have been with her for many years. And suddenly the Berlin-based singer realized that perhaps she finds herself better than ever in the unfamiliar.
The album title "Borrowed And Blue" already outlines the complete program of the evening. "Blue" the mood of the intimate trio constellation, in which the artist's timbre comes to the fore with disarming clarity, "Borrowed" the origin of the pieces and Lisa Bassenge's handling of them. In doing so, she does not snatch the originals from their creators or simply "modernize" standards that have become outdated. No, very quietly, concentrated on herself and unaffectedly a great singer sings these songs. Although none of the songs are from her own pen, Lisa Bassenge reveals quite a lot about herself.
The album was created in collaboration with two internationally renowned musical greats: Danish, Berlin-based bassist Andreas Lang and Swedish pianist Jacob Karlzon. They find an almost breathtaking balance between soloistic brilliance, which flashes up above all in nuances, and an individual restraint, which places itself at every single moment in the service of the voice. In the deliberate absence of a drum kit, the piano and bass combine with the voice to create a blend of magic and poetry.
