In October 2017, France will once again be the Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair after 28 years. French has been an international literary language for quite some time. It forms a cross-border network that stretches from Africa to the Caribbean, from the Maghreb to Vietnam. The Litprom Literature Days 2017 call this to mind and discuss with internationally successful authors their poetic and personal relationship to the French language. Do the authors find themselves in terms such as "Francophonie" or "Littérature-monde en Français"? What imaginaries and worldviews can be translated into French? How does integration into ever-changing cultural and political contexts transform the French language as a medium of literature? The Literature Days offer panel discussions, readings, a text performance, workshop discussions and film screenings. All events will be interpreted.
